a year of dates

i came across this wonderful idea for a year's worth of dates and just knew it would be a great gift for my husband's birthday earlier this month.



each month has a different activity for us to go do together. some are fun or silly, some are more romantic, but hopefully each one will give us something to look forward to doing together each month. i did splurge on tickets to a comedy show that my husband wants to see, but for the most part, each of the activities are inexpensive things like renting bikes to ride in central park or going to listen to the free concert.

he really seemed to like it and i'm really looking forward to re-opening the envelopes each month to see what we have in store!

it was a good week over at kristin's for the love of color group. a definite late-winter pick-me-up!!

feeling:

everything. i've been trying to be more mindful of textures this week. the feel of a fabric band-aid, the smooth keys of the keyboard, the soft ridges of cotton that make up my sweater.

smelling:

the subtle scent of daffodils. they are so cheery and scented just enough. they have made me thoroughly happy this week.

for the love of color

kristin posted this vivid color faves mosaic the other day and got quite the response, so she is hosting a color week starting today! who needs to wait for monday, when we've all got spring fever? no one!

thursday ~ spring greens, apple greens, verdant greens

friday ~ hot pink, fuchsia, raspberry

monday ~ electric blue, royal blue, bright blues

2010 lovely package exchange
